Vitaju! Weclome to Pravapis/German. Here you will find miscellaneous games, quizzes and tests for enhancing vocabulary and learning German grammar, as well as an assortment of articles about the German language.

Articles game (der-die-das) – 20 random nouns of unknown gender. Fill in the correct article for each noun.
Vocab game I (German nouns) – 20 random multiple choice questions, English to German. Nouns only.
Vocab game II (German nouns, advanced) – Same game, but a bit more difficult words (in my opnion).
Vocab game III (German verbs) – Same type again, but with verbs. That was very difficult for me.
Vocab game IV (Adjectives and adverbs) – The same game, but with adjectives and adverbs.
Some Belarusian-German Vocab – 200+ words that appear to be cognates or loan words.
The Awful German Language – hillarious, yet insightful and witty essay from Mark Twain.
Table I (Articles) – German nouns (die, der, das, den, dem, des, etc.).
Table II (Strong Verbs) – The table of the irregular German verbs.
Table III (Adjectives) – The endings of the German adjectives.

Our vocabularly database currently contains about ~2300 words. The system was originally designed on a computer that did not have German keyboard layout installed, so the umlauts (ä,ö,ü) were initially represented as two vowels (ae, oe, ue), and ß were represented as ss. I have corrected this, but there still could be some misspelled words, please, write to me if you see any mistakes. The games were made purely for personal use: for several months, I have used this program in order to enrich my German vocabulary, but then I decided that it could be interesting to other people and I made it available to the public via this website. There may be still some bugs and important omissions. If you see something or have some suggestion, please, do not hestitate to send me your comments. For the most part my word list is based on Langenscheidts Taschenwörterbuch English-Deutsch, Deutsch-English, but I am sure there could be quite a few typos and errors. I apologize for that in advance.
